The mission of Southeast Federal Credit Union is to improve the financial health of our members by encouraging systematic savings, providing loans at lower costs, and maintaining a strong balance sheet.

OUR HISTORY
Southeast Federal Credit Union began operations in January, 1976 for Riegel employees. It was originally named Riegel Employees Credit Association. Employees of Riegel Textile Corporation and their subsidiaries, retired employees and family members were eligible for membership.
In September, 1985, Riegel Textile Corporation was sold to Mount Vernon Mills, and on February 21, 1986, through a contest for our members, the name of the credit union was changed to Southeast Federal Credit Union.
We expanded to include other companies in our field of membership, which has been very successful for our credit union. Today, we have over 50 other employee groups in our field of membership.
Southeast Federal Credit Union has experienced a tremendous amount of growth in the first twenty five years. We started with two basic services - regular savings and small unsecured loans. From there, we grew to offering new and used autos, boats, campers, agricultural equipment, FHA home improvement loans, second mortgages, home equity, collateral equity, Christmas Clubs, Vacation Clubs, share certificates, IRA's, Money Market accounts, checking accounts, ATMs, audio response, and traveler's checks.
Service to our members has been our focus and will continue to be so in the future.
